the location is totally perfect. it is just a short walk to the aleksandr nevskij-cathedral. the room was excellent, really awesome. breakfast was good, i liked it very much!
i had only one small towel in my room! this was a little disappointing.

underwhelming stay, some issues noted
inconsistent housekeeping basic breakfast
I found the room to be less excellent than anticipated. the air conditioning didn't seem to work properly, a problem given the weather. also, housekeeping was inconsistent. My room wasn't cleaned on a couple of days. the breakfast was quite basic, i thought. it felt more like a 3-star experience than a 4-star one.

non-functional air conditioning peculiar smell
I must say, I was underwhelmed. The promised air conditioning was a blatant lie. It did not work at all. The room had a rather peculiar smell, not unlike sewage I believe. the staff were not rude, just standoffish. Good.

The hotel offered breakfast with many choices. The location was central to main attractions. The hotel provided clean room and premises.
The bathroom had a piece of plastic covering the reveal for the pipework. Generally, the room design was grubby. The receptionist had zero personality during a disastrous check in because the computer was down.
